East Palestine is located in northeastern Columbiana County just west of the Pennsylvania border. The village has just over 4,700 residents and was founded in 1828. The pottery industry played a big role in the beginning stages of development in the town. Like in other communities in the northern sections of the county, East Palestine has heavy industry located along the Norfolk-Southern rail line.
Located southwest of the village is the East Palestine Village Park which contains over 100 acres of trails, tennis courts, playgrounds, and baseball fields. Large portions of the park are wooded and offer excellent walking and biking opportunities. East Palestine is also located only 20 minutes away from Beaver Creek State Park and all the recreational activities that exist in over 2,700 acres of wilderness. East Palestine has easy access to most areas in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania thanks to its location on major state routes 14 in Ohio and 51 in Pennsylvania.
