On March 13, 2020, a federal emergency disaster was declared for the Public Assistance Program. This declaration is limited to costs incurred by state and local government and in very limited circumstances, non-profit organizations, for Category B, emergency protective measures.
Under the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, FEMA may provide assistance for emergency protective measures including a number of expenses which may be incurred by local governments, particularly in law enforcement and medical response.
