East Liverpool is located at the southern end of Columbiana County on the banks of the Ohio River about 40 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and 47 miles to downtown Youngstown.The city has a population of 11,000 residents, and has a rich river history that has helped build the city to be an important hub on the Ohio River.
Downtown East Liverpool is home to the Carnegie Public Library built in 1899 which is on the Register of Historic Places. The city was popular with Andrew Carnegie who spent much of his youth visiting. Downtown is also home to the Ceramics Museum which showcases East Liverpool’s rich history in the pottery industry. East Liverpool is still home to two companies that revolve around the pottery industry: The Hall China Company and the American Mug and Stein Company. Kent State East Liverpool has a campus in the city’s central business district. Located within the city is Thompson Park which offers more than 120 acres of recreational activities, including an amphitheater, public swimming pool, and hiking trails.
The city of East Liverpool has a history built around the river and hills, and the opportunities for growth are abundant.
