SharedWork Ohio program helps employers avoid layoff of employees

The SharedWork Ohio program offers employers an alternative to layoffs, It allows workers to remain employed and employers to retain their staff during reduced business activity. Under SharedWork plans, employees work reduced hours and ODJFS provides unemployment insurance benefits proportionate to the reduced hours.

Interested employers should send ODJFS a list of participating employees and detail their normal weekly hours of week, not to exceed 40 hours and not including overtime. Part-time staff may be eligible, but all workers in an affected unit must have their hours reduced by the same percentage.
