Hanoverton is located in the western portion of the county and has a population of 408. Hanoverton has access to Route 11, one of the main highways in the state which provides access to several other significant highways.

One of the notable residents from Hanoverton is Thomas Corwin Menderhall who is known for his contributions to meteorology and physics. It is also the resting site of Hy Myers a former professional baseball player. A famous site in Hanoverton is Spread Eagle’s Tavern and Inn which was constructed in 1837. It is rumored that Abraham Lincoln spent the night in this Inn.
